New 3-Minute Long Batman v. Superman Trailer is Epic
Just yesterday, Warner Bros. released a teaser for the upcoming Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice movie where an angry, almost ‘unlike himself’ Clark Kent unmasks a chained Batman. And today, the studio releases the big daddy of trailers. The 3-minute long second trailer reveals a whole lot more than one would have expected, and also gives away potential spoilers, and finally, it is the best thing on the internet today so go ahead and hit the play button.
So, now that you’ve taken several seconds to soak all that in, let’s begin. The trailer opens with Clark Kent (Henry Cavill) and Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) at an event, passive-aggressively talking taking shots at each other about the ethics of being a hero, the pick of the quote being Wayne’s barb about Superman: “Maybe it’s the Gotham city in me—I have a bad history with freaks dressed as clowns.”. The heated discussion is crashed by the whimsical Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg) – it is his party, after all.
As the trailer continues, we find out that Lex’s main purpose is to see the two men’s alter egos go at it for a couple of rounds, or in his own words, the greatest gladiator match in the history of the world: Son of Kyrpon versus Bat of Gotham!”.
So yes, the trailer shows exactly why the movie is titled Batman v. Superman it shows both heroes trying to take the other one down. It could be easy, as Superman says so himself. So what’s holding him back?
But the real money shot has to be the surprising appearance of Doomsday at the end. Looks like Lex was not quite done with General Zod, who died at the hands of Superman at the end of Man of Steel. Lex creates (not sure how yet) Doomsday. And this is when (perhaps) Batman and Superman decide to bury the hatchet and become friends, because how else will you take down Doomsday?
But before the bond is forged, both Batman and Superman are saved by Wonder Woman, which is pretty sweet to watch. The trailer packs a ton of action and dialogue as well as some humour (it’s not all dark and gloomy), especially when Superman asks Batman,”is she with you?” to which Batman responds: “I thought she was with you.” Let us now what you think of the new trailer in the comments below.
