6 TV Shows That Need to Turn Into Games

We all have a list of favourite TV shows. Some that have perhaps ended and some that are currently on television. And there have been times when we’ve felt that some of our favourite shows would be great if they were turned into a game. Take Game of Thrones, for example. The hugely popular TV show has all the makings of a great game, much like the Lord of the Rings games that came out on PC and other consoles some 10 years ago.

So, let’s take a look at some TV shows that are totally game-worthy.

Hannibal

Genre: Cooking Game

If you’ve watched Hannibal the TV show, you’ll know that apart from the goriness of the murders caused by the serial killing cannibal, Hannibal, the show also displays exquisite culinary visuals. It’s really a show that is part FBI murder mystery and part Hannibal’s kitchen delight. While an FBI investigation game would be good, we think that playing as Hannibal and working the kitchen, making delicacies of the victim’s remains, going through the elaborate process of turning lungs into flambé or liver into foie gras au torchon would be a grotesquely satisfying game.

Breaking Bad

Genre: Strategy Game

How is it that one of the all-time greatest TV shows ever made hasn’t been turned into a game yet? Well, Sony has been on the edge about developing a Breaking Bad game. But if there was a game, how would that turn out?

Now before you think that playing as Walter White would be the most badass thing ever, we actually have a different idea in mind. Imagine playing as a drug lord instead. It would be fun to have a strategy game that lets us be Gus Fring, for example. We’d have to manage every aspect of the business by setting up labs, recruiting employees and “dealing” with our enemies.

Luther

Genre: Action-Adventure

Games like L.A. Noire have a mix of investigation, car chases and gunfire. Luther is one of those shows that imbibes these aspects. It would also make a perfect setting for a game thanks to its compelling protagonist and wide range of deranged criminals. Luther as a show has done an excellent job of creating memorable villains and it’s only fair to give gamers the opportunity to chase them down.

Person of Interest

Genre: Open-World Action Game

Person of Interest is about a group of vigilantes who use technology to track down bad guys, and good old brute force to take them down. That would make for an interesting game. You could either play as John and protect the innocent in danger using guns or fists, or play as the brilliant hacker Finch and assist from afar. The game could also be set in an open-world New York City.

Daredevil

Genre: Action-Adventure

Here’s the thing about coming book superheroes – they are all game-worthy. Every superhero movie that has come out in the past have also been made into games. Spider-Man has a few games, so does Iron-Man, and of course, who can forget Batman’s Arkham series. So why leave out Daredevil? The first season of Netflix’s Daredevil was simply too brilliant to not be made into a dark, gritty, superhero game. Play as Matt Murdock aka Daredevil and use your enhanced senses (which could be a pretty cool experience in the game world) to take down bad guys, and make your way to the boss aka Kingpin. That’s pretty much all you could ask for, really.

The Flash

Genre: Open-World Action Game

If Daredevil ever gets turned into a game, then The Flash needs to as well. The Flash is perhaps the most comic-book inspired show currently on television. As a superhero show, The Flash leads them all. Imagine playing as The Flash and zooming around an open-world Central City. We have the technology today to make that possible. Along with that comes all of Flash’s incredible superspeed-oriented powers. And The Flash also has tons of exciting villains that are just aching to be gamified.
