This Alarm Clock Wakes You Up With a Steaming Cup of Coffee

Wouldn’t you hate your alarm clock so much less if it woke you up with a steaming hot cup of joe? U.K.-based industrial designer Josh Renouf has come up with what just might be the king of alarm clocks. His “Barisieur” alarm clock will brew a cup of coffee right when you wake up, easing you through your morning with the smell of fresh coffee.

The coffee maker heats the water and brews the coffee all by itself – all you have to do is load it up the night before. Interestingly, Renouf points out that this preparation process may actually help users fall asleep at night, “It encourages a ritual before going to sleep, signalling to the body and mind that it is time to unwind and relax,” he writes on his website.

Renouf is now in the process of developing the Barisieur for commercial use. The estimated retail price is between £150 and £250 (or around $250 to $420). For the lethargic generation who love to sleep and also love their morning coffee, this is the perfect solution.
