Another one of the lakes in Garhwal Himalayas of Uttarakhand is located at a height of 5029 m and is known as Roopkund. It is situated in Chamoli district and is surrounded by mystery as hundreds of skeletons were once found at the edge of the lake. The area is mostly uninhabited and offers an off-beat location for trekkers and adventure enthusiasts to explore.

Sikkim is a paradise for nature lovers. It’s lit up with warm but vivid colors, and offers a great many lakes for trekkers to explore. Gurudongmar Lake is situated at a height of 5243 m above the ground and is located in Lachen, a small village in North Sikkim.
